Building inclusive, accessible experiences through code, story, and mystery
Hello! I’m Destiny O’Connor, a Deaf technologist, educator, and community builder passionate about making technology more accessible and creating opportunities for Deaf communities.
I teach kids how to code through Deaf Kids Code, serve as an ASL instructor with programs through the American Society for Deaf Children (ASDC), and contribute to open source through the CNCF Deaf and Hard of Hearing Working Group. I also serve as Co-Lead of the CNCF Deep Roots Working Group and help lead sign language accessibility efforts within the cloud native community.
I’m a builder at heart. Whether I’m developing websites, teaching coding, creating accessibility resources, mentoring students, or working on open source projects, I love finding ways to connect people, technology, and education.
I’m also a gamer, storyteller, lifelong learner, and mom of four. Life can be chaotic, but some of our best memories have come from the unexpected adventures along the way.
At the end of the day, I’m working to create a future where accessibility isn't an afterthought and where Deaf and disabled people have the tools, opportunities, and support they need to thrive.
